Types of computer Graphics

A graphics is a pictorial representation of data. It is designed and manufactured on a computer with graphic design software.

JPEG is a popular file format for website or for insertion on printed matter. For work that does not need to be high resolution, JPEG can be optimized to a very small file size and can be very useful for websites.

Graphics Interchange Format
GIF is a file format that is good for graphics that aren´t real life colour images (e.g. cartoon, logos and graphics) because this file format has only 256 colours.

BMP can display millions of colours because it is supported by several programs. This format can be used when somebody provides an image to someone who may not have the program in which you created the image. The BMP format stores colour data for each pixel in the image without any compression.
